Bilclav 1.2 Injection

  • Each Vial Contains:
  • Amoxycillin Sodium IP (Sterile) EQ. To Amoxycillin 1000mg
  • Potassium Clavulanate IP (Sterile) EQ. To Clavulanic Acid 200mg
  • One FFS ampoule contains:
  • Sterile Water For Injections IP 20ml

Amoxicillin & Clavulanic acid is a combination antibiotic consisting of amoxicillin trihydrate, a ß-lactam antibiotic, and potassium clavulanate, a ß-lactamase inhibitor.

Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic antibiotic, an analog of ampicillin, with a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms.

Clavulanic acid is produced by the fermentation of Streptomyces clavuligerus. It's structure similer to the penicillin's structure and acts as Beta lactamase inhibitor.

Children 0-3 months: 30mg/kg Bilclav every 12 hours in infants < 4kg and 30mg/kg Bilclav every 8 hours in infants >4kg

Children 3 months - 12 years: Usually 30mg/kg Bilclav 8 hourly. In more serious infections, increase frequency to 6 hourly intervals.

Adults and Children 40kg and over: Usually 1.2g 8 hourly. In more serious infections, increase frequency to 6 hourly intervals.

Bilclav Injection is used in the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:

  • Bacterial infections of respiratory tract
  • Bacterial infections of urinary tract
  • Bacterial infections of skin
  • Bacterial infections of gums
  • Bacterial infections of ear
  • Infections after surgery

It may not be recommended to consume Bilclav Injection if you have the following diseases, medical or physical conditions:

  • Allergic history
  • Glandular fever
  • Penicillin hypersensitivity

Please consult your doctor if you observe any of these side effects even in mild form:

  • Nausea
  • Skin rash
  • Severe skin allergies
  • Pain
  • Irritation at the site of injection
  • Vomiting

Take the following precautions or be careful about the following while consuming Bilclav Injections:

  • Be careful if you have penicillin-associated jaundice or skin rash, kidney or liver dysfunction
  • Consult your doctor if you develop Allergic reactions
  • Do not take it for more than 2 weeks
  • Do periodic assessment of renal, hepatic or hematopoietic functions
  • Keep taking medicine until treatment is finished
  • Space the doses evenly during the day

Store medicines at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze medicines unless the packaging or storage instructions clearly require you to do that. Keep medicines away from children to prevent them from accidental consumption.
